Hidden gem! I went today for a shellac manicure and reflexology hand massage. I had e-malled last week for an appointment and got a reply within the hour, they are open Tuesday -through Sunday with evening hours so I had a few options.
Even though I live in the neighbourhood I never would have found the place without Groupon, it’s hidden away on the top floor of an old house with a hair salon on the main floor. The salon/spa is very small and cozy, it is certainly not fancy but it was clean and cute. There wasn’t a huge selection of polish to choose from but they had a good range of colours. Hanaa was so great! She was really thorough and professional and my nails look really nice…plus she gave me an amazing hand massage, I nearly fell asleep and she put my regular massage therapist to shame (sorry Christine! :P)
I will be back for sure, the prices were reasonable and I can never pass up a reason to visit 124th street!

This is my second time here for a massage. Jonathan is highly skilled at getting the knots of my body. He has a gentle my strong and deep pressure to release the tension from my neck, shoulders, lower back and right arm. This location is a little hard to find the first time but just look to the left of the restaurant Violino and you got yourself a great massage. I purchased this deal with groupon and have no regrets every time I visit.

I came here after purchasing a Groupon. I had an organic facial and a massage. It wasn’t easy to find. The sign isn’t front facing but rather on the north side of the building. They have a small parking lot (also north of the building). There is 2 hour parking on the street.
First I had the facial. Upon entering the room it certainly has a down to earth feel to it. It isn’t fancy by any means. I expected this having read a previous review so I wasn’t disappointed. They could do a better job in this area.
I enjoyed the facial. I wasn’t expected to chat. It was a pretty basic facial and what I enjoyed most was the reflexology massage. I have tinnitus and I felt it was lowering the noise in my head.
I had an hour massage and I was quite pleased that he spent that hour on my shoulders and back. He didn’t chat or expect me too until the end when he gave me some good tips. The pressure was just right.
With Groupon pricing I think the facial was worth while. Not sure I would have paid more though unless I was paying for a reflexology massage in which case I probably would have. The massage therapist is quite experienced and I would recommend him with or without a Groupon.

Came here with a Groupon, and was not really impressed.
1) Parking is bad enough downtown, but adding to the construction happening in the area? Yuck! They do have their own little parking lot, which fits 6 cars, and requires a certain amount of skill manoeuvring in and out of it.
2) Although the construction is no fault of theirs, it’s not really conducive to your massage session when you hear bulldozers right outside. Oddly enough, I didn’t get any calm spa music playing in the room until partially into my session.
3) Therapeutic Massage operates out of an old house, but it looks like they didn’t take any effort in renovating it or decorating it to make it more spa-like. It’s seriously a massage table in a middle of a bedroom, with a shower stall in one corner.
4) Service was pretty disappointing. I found it hard to get a hold of them via phone to book an appointment. Was booked for a 1 hour massage, but only received 55 minutes of it. When I pointed it out in my Groupon survey, I was questioned about my punctuality. (nope, I was on that table right on the dot for my appointment time) After my massage, i commented to the massage therapist how I still felt a lot of discomfort, and, once again, felt like the blame was shifted on to me (ie) maybe it was too long between appointments – it wasn’t, not even a month; maybe it has to do with my posture/work – maybe, but I usually feel a lot better after my other massages) I also was not a fan of the technique of the massage therapist; it didn’t feel very effective to me.
I was so turned off by my experience that I contacted Groupon for a refund. Unless they really turn themselves around, I won’t be coming back

I purchased a groupon for a deep tissue massage and instead basically got a one hour oil rub. The last few minutes the massage therapist put slightly more effort into getting into a few muscles then went right back to rubbing oil into my skin. No pressure whatsoever- deep tissue? I don’t think so. I don’t believe this person has professional training, either that or could really care less about actually giving a real and decent massage. Spend your money elsewhere. (Edit: based on the below response from the owner, I still 100% stand by my comment. This wasn’t my first massage ever…had it been, the statement below from the owner may have received a pass from me simply because you could assume I don’t know any better. That said, I do know better and I know the difference between therapeutic massage, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, and relaxation massage. What I received wasn’t close to any of these…maybe the closest would be relaxation massage, however even those have been better.) Don’t waste your money people. I paid $36 for my groupon and even that was not worth it. Sad but true.

Groupon brought me here for a bikini/Brazilian waxing appointment, and I can say with certainty I’ll be coming back again! I was a bit nervous as I had had an unpleasant waxing experience a couple of years ago (different spa), but my esthetician Hanaa was professional, personable, and quick. She let me know all of the steps she was taking, and the wax process was much less painful than I had anticipated (as well, post-wax my sensitive skin is doing well). The studio isn’t particularly fancy, but is bright and well kept!
My only caution is the street parking, being on High Street/124th it can be a little limited depending on the time of day.
