My 5 stars are for the COVID protocols and the masseuse Max.
Upon arrival, you get your temperature taken and given hand sanitizer. There are private outdoors massage tables tucked in the back of a parking lot — far enough away from the busy street noise but you can still hear some outdoor city noises 🙂 Check out is contact free with their venmo option!
Max had great technique and consistent pressure in my trigger points the entire session. The massage had a nice flow that was even on both sides. He also asked me where I had tension and focused on that area more. I was in heaven when he worked on my back knots!!
He also did the best and most thorough stretching that I’ve experienced in LA. Cracking every part of my body felt soo satisfying haha

I am a regular massage taker. However, due to pandemic I had no massage since March of 2020.
I am also a dentist who works on pediatric patients only.
Due to the work as well as lack of massage for such a longtime, I was in sever pain to the point that steroid and heavy painkillers were not effective anymore.
Desperately last night I searched google to see if I can find out when the massage and spa locations will reopen. I came across this place on zarimassage just by luck. I was really impressed with their only 5 star reviews. There is not even one 4 star??!!
I decided immediately and also desperately to try it for myself today.
I feel I am reborn again. No more pain. Finally after months of suffering I am pain free!
Based on the reviews I chose Rubi.
She is amazing. Her hands dance on your body and she knows exactly which spot to touch, hold, press, stretch…..
I have been to so many local as well as international spa and 5 star hotels to get massage. Rubi by far is among the top 1% among all of them.
The place is super clean and very well organized.
Thank you for getting me out of pain

I’m glad The sense is opening again. I need massage so badly, finally I got one today with Jet. The place is meticulously clean, face mask is required and temperature check at the entrance. The massage table is fresh, I feel safe to lay on. Jet is very caring, checked with me at the beginning; any injury, any particular areas need more attention and how I want the pressure. During the massage he checked if I feel relax and comfortable. I fell asleep during the massage, the pampered feeing and the ambience. I hope the city allows this place to stay open, because I need massage from once or twice a month.

Very very disappointed with the experience in here. While looking up the place I noticed they had a Groupon promotion – so why not right ?
However when called them they had availability only for Wed 10 am… seriously ? Wednesday morning ? Who even gets a massage on Wednesday 10 am lol The person on the phone explained me since it’s a promotion I have to meet their schedule , they don’t provide with the same availability as for the non promotional purchases … Well that’s really not some type of a service I am looking forward to. If that’s the protocol would be fair to put in your promotions description , otherwise I feel scammed .
Definitely not going to try this place – let’s not forget it’s LA and on every block you got 5 star rated massage centres.
Hope the management can review their approach .
Best of luck

I tried booking my apt today but required a deposit. I apologized to the person on the phone that unfortunately I didn’t have my card number with me and i would call back later. He continued to explain if i had zelle, vedmo etc. I said sorry I don’t, I would call back later to schedule the apt. Then all I here in the other end of the phone is rustling and then quite. Then I noticed the employee hanged up on me. I was in disbelief that the employee just hanged up on me… without a word. I was nothing but polite to the employee throughout the conversation. I am very disappointed what had just happened. He didn’t acknowledge a friendly customer service such as ” thank you have a nice day!” or ” no, worries. hope to hear from you soon”. I was hoping to try this place, but unfortunately I will be looking somewhere else

I’ve been to soooo many massage places and this is my best experience. Receptionist is very sweet and welcoming. And Patrick is the BEST therapist. He just naturally knows what my body wants. The entire process was so enjoyable and relaxing that I almost fell asleep. Highly recommended.

Couldn’t recommend more! So easy to get an appointment (got one for 2 hours from when I called!) and everyone is so sweet and calming. SUPER clean, felt very safe and thankful to have a place to help with back pain here during covid. I got a deep tissue massage from Apple, which greatly reduced the soreness and tightness id been feeling in my back. Highly recommend, thank you guys for being so great, going back for another massage today!

‘ve been here 4 times since the pandemic started, and let me just say The Sense Massage is the only thing keeping my sanity!!
They do the massages outside, so I recommend coming after 6 or on a breezy day. (During my day massage I had to stop halfway through because it was so hot)
Even though it’s outside they’ve done a great job at making it a little oasis. Despite it being off a busy steeet in Hollywood you won’t hear any loud noises.
All of the masseuses are wonderful, but NANA was my favorite. I will request her every time and you should too

Ugh, so saddened and disappointed. I literally feel like someone just poured oil on my skin and rubbed it in…. I went in with knots and not one of them was rubbed out whatsoever. So disappointed, I only went because of the reviews and I feel really let down.

Let’s just say this place has 5 stars with almost 500 reviews for a reason. I called to make a reservation and the guy on the phone was SO nice. I knew just by that phone call that the customer service was good. Anyway, the place was super clean, smelled good, and the customer service was just as I expected. As soon as I laid down on the table I immediately noticed that the table was heated. The lady came in with a smile and greeted me. The massage was amazing. I never knew that an 100lb Asian lady would be able to apply so much pressure in my deep tissue massage for an entire hour. The oils the place uses also smells pretty freaking good. I ended up purchasing 2 at the front desk. They’re CBD oils. Making this my official go to massage place. Coming back for as long as they keep their doors open

I’ve been going here for over a year, but just got my first massage since they reopened after COVID and they are taking every safety precaution – clear partition at front desk, staff in masks, hand sanitizer & temperature check upon checking in… then the rooms have UV light and air filters. They’ve always been a clean place, but it definitely helps knowing they are taking all the extra steps for their clients and staff.
The Sense is my secret slice of heaven when it comes to massages. I always need really deep tissue/sports type of massages and for their prices – you won’t find better than Jet or Mark. With other places, my biggest pet peeve is when a masseuse spends 5-10 minutes slathering oil on your back with no pressure, like they are prepping a turkey for the oven. Not here though – there is intention behind every touch, whether it be to find the knot or relieve tension. I feel like Jet knows which muscles need attention without me even telling him! Side note – if you get a massage here, do NOT be afraid to speak up about the pressure, even if you need variations throughout. They will happily accommodate and it’s the best way to make sure you get the most for your money.
Also, The Sense is a no frills kinda place, which I prefer – I know I’m paying just for excellent service and not the fillers. You can keep your fancy robes and cucumber water. And don’t forget to tip well. For the prices they offer, even if you tip $20 or more – you’ll still be getting a better deal then at the fancier spas.

I’ve left a review for this establishment before (also 5 stars) but the massage give to me by Prim made me want to do it all over , as mentioned by others this place is immaculately clean even before Covid they were like this . But on to Ms Prim. Hands of an angel with the strength of a thousand men . I told her my problem areas and she knew exactly what to do and what areas to keep working on without me even telling her about specific knots or strains . I did not have to tell her to adjust her pressure not one time . She’s has given me hands down one of the best massages I’ve ever had . Thank you Prim ! I hurt so good right now and I love it !

I was really worried about getting a massage during COVID because I wasn’t sure how strictly businesses would be complying with safety measures but The Sense staff totally put my worries at ease. They take every measure to ensure you feel comfortable and safe.
I got a 90 min Deep Tissue and she applied deep pressure from start to finish (sadly, something a lot of masseuses do not do). Ruby found all my knots and worked on them thoroughly – she’s so intuitive and her hands work like magic!
I’ve gone to Ruby twice already within 2 weeks time, and plan to go back on a bi-monthly basis. I’ve already recommended her to all of my friends by word of mouth but I wanted to make sure I wrote her a review as well. It’s hard to find a good masseuse but Ruby does not play! She’s so good and I couldn’t recommend her more

Of all the massage establishments in SGV, Hollywood, Ktown/Central LA, West LA, and SFV, The Sense is hands down consistently the best I’ve experienced with no lapse in quality for the past several years. Honestly, early on I used to still try new places just for the heck of it and I eventually would find myself constantly asking myself why I even bother wasting my money on other inferior experiences.
The owners, Mark and Ken, are awesome, smart, thoughtful, savvy, super professional and communicative, and they maintain excellent quality standards for all the masseurs and masseuses here. It’s just so consistently good.
Came here to try the outdoor massage and it felt very private, well ventilated, and well adapted to the circumstances. It’s tucked away in a hidden space behind the store. Super grateful for The Sense, and glad the owners have found this relatively safe-feeling interim solution during the COVID pandemic.
