So I come in, as a walk-in, and asked if they had appointments available. The lady said I have to wait 45 minutes and come back at 12:45. So I sat in the parking lot waiting, I came back at exactly 12:45 and the stylist says, “oh, my 1pm in here, you have to wait until I am done.
I came on time and they pushed me back for a customer that came to their appointment too early. They are just plain disrespectful. If don’t have time for a walk-in, then just be honest and don’t string people along!

I’ve been coming to get Hi-Lights from Isabel for 16 months. I always made an appointment before I came in to the store. Never Walk-In. I started to notice as time went by that she started taking other customers while she was working on my hair even though, I made an appointment with her. Because of that, I had to wait longer. There is always at least one more Stylist other than her but she is the one who seems like taking all the customers to herself. No wonder why there are frequent changes of Stylists at this specific “Smart Style”. I feel Isabel, is very greedy person who want all customers just to herself. My last appointment with Isabel, was a few months ago. When I arrived at the store, she was already taking care of three other customers. After waiting for over thirty minutes, she finally seated me. I thought she was going to start doing my hair but after she brushed my hair, she told me to wait and that she would be right back but than she move on to take care of another customer. That’s it, enough is enough!! I just walked away and never went back. The way she treated me was very wrong and absolutely NOT acceptable. No customers should be treated the way especially after making appointment. What is the purpose for making an appointment if I still have to wait. I don’t recommend Isabel

I called and made a 2:30 appointment for my daughter and myself. I get there and they say 20-30 minutes. Ok I can wait that no problem. By 3:15 they offer for another stylist offers to cut my daughters hair. I agree to that. It is her first hair cut and while she did a fine job she did nothing to make the experience special. At 3:45 I am told it is going to be another hour for the stylist I booked. I have an extremely special needs son at home and because of my husbands job o very very rarely get to leave the house. I couldn’t wait another hour and trying to keep a four year old entertained waiting for at least another hour. I understand they are a walk in business but don’t take appointments if they aren’t going to be honored, or at least be honest when the customer gets there. So I left with no haircut and wasted the small amount of time I get away and can do something for myself.

Things have gotten better at this salon thanks to a few tips I’ve learned. I’ve gotten my haircut here now for probably the past year now and here’s what I’ve found out to make it a 5 star experience:
-CALL AHEAD!! At least an hour ahead. Yes, you’ll save yourself a lot of time instead of just walking in and finding out the waiting list is long or the stylist you want is delayed or very busy. They will hold your place in line if you call and check in. Worst case if they’re still running late, bring your shopping list and do your shopping in Walmart while you wait.
-Find a stylist that works for you and listens to you. This made all the difference for me. I will not go to anyone but Jessica. I’m normally not a super talkative person, but I feel comfortable around her and we’ve gotten to know each really well now! Total stereotypical hair salon gossip session now. Love it. She really takes her time with me too. I never feel like she rushes, even though my military-style cut is as simple as can be and could be done in 10 minutes or less.
Finally, just a update, unfortunately they no longer offer the $12 Tuesday haircuts. Bummer, but I’ll still go back just for Jessica!

Wish I could give 0 stars. I walk in and Isabel, the manager, asks me to sign in my name and phone number and then disappears. I stand there waiting for a few minutes before peeking my head behind the wall barrier to find her washing someones hair.
Okay? I understand she’s by herself, so I’ll be patient and find myself a seat even though I was just forgotten about at the counter and not even told that I could take a seat. So I take a seat and patiently wait as she finishes up the chick she’s working on.
As I’m waiting, another lady arrives and waits next to me. After Isabel finishes with her client, she takes the lady in without even acknowledging me. At this point, I have to ask, exactly how long the wait is. I had been sitting there for close to an hour without any knowledge of how much longer the wait would be. Apparently people can just show up and be seen without explanation to those who have been waiting for an hour in an empty salon.
I definitely didn’t stay after Isabel took the lady in without explanation even after she apologized for the wait. That apology was long overdue. It’s a common courtesy in good service, and that was definitely lacking here. I made sure to let Isabel know before leaving that it was a complete waste of my time to be sitting there for an hour when I wouldn’t have stayed having known that prior. Total BS!

I like the hair salon but I went again because my sister wanted a hair cut but the lady in the front said that she was free at the time i asked for her…. but when we got there she wasn’t and she said to come back in an hour, when we got back not even an hour she took another costumer i was a little upset because she could habe called me since they had my phone number. My first time was amazing second time not so much and not including I wished they took appointments it would be so much more organized and easier for us costumers.

Isabel is a perfect job in my highlights and haircut. It was also very affordable than the last salon I got my hair dyed at. Her costumer service is perfect and she is very nice. I will return again

I’m not complaining about the person that cut my hair at all.. she did a great job but the customer service there is fucken horrible!! Excuse my fucken language!! They set ur appointments for a certain time then see you about 1ins later. Like ur chasing their tails over booking ppl..like I said my hair cut was great but there waiting wasn’t especially since I had to be somewhere else by a certain time .

I came to this salon for the past 2 years. I’m always happy with my haircuts from Isabel.
One morning, I came in for a haircut. Isabel had a long wait so I asked if I can wait for the other lady. The lady was doing an updo and was told I’ll be next. A few people walk in. I asked the other lady (Guadalupe, I believe is her name) if I’m still next and how much longer. She said “yes, they’re waiting for Isabel. I should be done in 15-20 minutes” So I wait. She finishes and then she comes up to me saying theres one person ahead of me, a call-in. I was so upset. If she would’ve told me that when I got there or when I asked if I was next, I would’ve come back.
People have things to do, please check your schedules before telling people when they will be helped. Guadalupe didn’t seem too concerned that I was clearly upset for waiting, as she went and took the other lady. I tried talking to Isabel about the situation and she said “Oh no, she had called in” I just felt that they both lied to me and wasted my time and didn’t care that I was upset. They just lost myself and the people I referred to them. Never going back.

As a frequent shopper at the Eastlake Walmart, I ran across this salon by accident as I walked into the North entrance of the store. I avoided it once or twice, then one day my sister suggested we stop in and take a look around since I began voicing my desire to find a great stylist to help me get control of my hair.
We immediately met with Shayna, who was warm and very professional from the beginning. I explained to her the problem I was having with my scalp after suffering from an allergic reaction to an at home hair dye 5 years earlier.
Needless to say, after numerous doctor’s visits to dermatologists and allergists, I was walking around everyday ashamed of the hair i hid under a wig. I suffered from severe flaking and scaling of the scalp, as well as sores that wept every now and then. This condition was overwhelming, embarrassing, and a definite confidence killer.
Shayna did a quick evaluation, and knew exactly what to recommend. She confidently stated that it was something we could get control of, and asked me to come in. Again, the embarrasment kept me from going, but after avoiding her once or twice again, I finally mustered up the courage to go in and get the help I needed.
I have been going in to see Shayna off an on now for almost a year, and no longer suffer from the problems I used to have. After three consecutive visits, there was little to no flaking, and I dont have sores or scales on the scalp. My hair, which was once short and breaking is growing, and there is not much breakage.
This is a great salon, and Shayna comes highly recommended. Do yourself a favor and go see her….
Sidenote: In the process of getting my hair done, I have had the chance to observe Shayna work on others, and she is familiar with all hair types, and works well with people of all ages! My cousins (AGES 5 & 16) got their first haircuts from her just yesterday, and were very impressed with the looks!
