Not sure I would come here without a Groupon or deal. From the moment you check in it feels like you are at a doctors office with the forms and questions to the waiting room which isn’t zen like. Given the price that I paid, I can’t complain but if I had to come again and pay full price I would not be happy.
Next is the massage itself. I don’t like that the therapist was extremely gentle. I like a bit deeper massage but she was just stroking my back which didn’t do much for me. I also wish they had a non fragrance hypoallergenic oil for people who have skin allergies. Not even wants scents or mineral
Oil on their skin.
Also when I booked they said they would be able to accommodate my groups requests like deep tissue or add one’s but we had one lady who wasn’t able to get the massage she wanted. That sucks because we would have prebooked to avoid this but I was assured it would not be a problem.
Come if you get a good deal but don’t expect it to be a spa like Burke Williams. It’s a basic massage at a fair price and bring your own oil.

Seems a bit shady and strange that they are charging me a monthly fee to freeze my membership when we’re in the middle of a pandemic and the place legally cannot reopen/accept appointments.
I understand if I was being charged the freezing fee if they were open, however they haven’t been with the exception of a month or two last year.
I’ve calling, no one picks up the phone and there is no alternative number to call in order to bring up with issue. Ive even tried emailing and haven’t received a response (it’s been over a week).
Absolutely no one is getting back to me, yet I’m still being charged.

Eh. I’d bought a Groupon, and for the price of the Groupon it was average. If I had paid full price, I would have been very disappointed.
I tweaked my back earlier this week and needed someone to work the muscle a little to get it to loosen up. On my intake “form”, I’d indicated that I wanted special attention paid to my back as it was cramped. I’d expected a consultation with the technician to go over any special needs again in person (as is the case at the majority of places), but I was just asked to instantly get on the table.
Once my technician came back in, I expressed verbally that I wanted more attention paid to my lower back, and was (nicely) told something along the lines of “let me do my job” (paraphrasing here, she was more professional than that).
The massage ended up being a pretty average full body massage with mostly forearm and elbow use, and didn’t really feel much like she knew about how to actually do deep tissue massage. Plus, she spent all of 1:30 on my lower back (I counted on one side, because it felt rushed). It felt more like a one-size-fits-all timed routine rather than taking the client’s individual needs into consideration.
Also got shafted on time and no mention of the HydroLuxe, as was mentioned in other reviews. I got there at 3:45 for a 4pm massage, was taken to the room at 4:03, took about 5 minutes to undress and for her to come back to the room, and she was done at about 4:50, reiterated her name and how to tip her. So I wound up with a 40ish minute massage, not an hour.
I didn’t feel like hanging around for the hydroluxe because I’ve done them before and don’t like them much, but was a little irked they didn’t even mention it. Heard a guy asking about it on the way out as well, so not bringing it up seems to be a trend. They also only have one for the whole facility, but what looked like 8-10 rooms at least for appointments.
If you just need a general relaxing massage, I’d give it a go with the Groupon. Otherwise, pass; there are many better quality massage facilities in SF for the price. I don’t regret going, but I won’t be back.

Massage was fine. It was the lack of discernment and accommodation of the staff that really makes me not want to come back.
I purchased two vouchers from Groupon. On Groupon it says one voucher per person. I purchased 2. One for myself and one for a friend. I told them my friend will be back next time because I have a remaining voucher for her but they said they cannot accommodate that because it’s one per Groupon account NOT per person. They told me to call Groupon for refund but no one picks up their automated line. If it’s over 3 days of purchase, it states it cannot be refunded. I called them back to tell them that, they said there’s nothing they can do and that I have to somehow find a way to get it from Groupon even though Groupon has already paid them out for my purchase.
On the fine print of Groupon, although states one per person, it also states an additional one may be purchased as gift which I have shown in attached photo. Also on fine print of the agreement of purchase states that if purchased but not valid for discount, MassageLuXe is suppose to honor the value at which it was purchased to apply to their services. However, MassageLuXe denied the policy.
All in all, that means I took a loss. A small one which I don’t mind in terms of money but the way they handled it is rather poor. Enough for me to never come back.

Hit or miss service here. Overall it’s ok but I’d rather spend more money and go to a higher end spa. If you get a groupon deal it’s ok. Full price isn’t worth it imho.

So… this I believe it’s unethical and illegal. They closed doors due to the COVIT-19 situation, which I understand. But they keep charging the monthly fee even though I can not get my massage scheduled. I called and left message to put my account on hold, but no response and no call back. Seriously?

Found this place from groupon. Called a day before and got a booking. The guys at the front were super nice. I was greeted by my therapist, and he took me to my room.
He asked if I had any problem areas, and I told him my neck because I had a pinched nerve on one side. He asked if he could spend 20 mins on my neck and the rest on my body. Massage was good, although I wish he would have put in a little more work to my neck as we discussed.
Good massage & great value. I don’t think the full price would have been worth it @ $120… after using a discount code my groupon came out to $40. If I was paying $120 I’d rather go somewhere with a steam room/hot tub.
Tried the hydromassage, but it wasn’t anything special. Got off the table after 5 mins.

Got a great Groupon rate for this place and it was very relaxing. There’s definitely a lot more paperwork you have to fill out than you usually do before getting a massage and the masseuse actually asked me right before the appointment a lot of questions I had already answered on the questionnaire. However, the man who massaged me was very good and I will probably be back in the future.

I bought the groupon and I’m glad I didn’t pay full price. I bought the speciality for $47 which included the 15 min hydro and hot stone or aroma therapy.
My massage therapist asked what I wanted to be focused on and I said shoulders and lower back. I felt like I got a too hot sponge bath. If you get the hot stone massage here’s what it is: hot ass stones placed on every square inch of your body and she presses the already very hot stones into your skin and then rubs them around in circles with little to no pressure. “Ask them to make it less hot!” Idk what they heat them rocks up in but I DID tell her 3 times the stones were too hot so she just took em off lol. Then she scrubbed down my body with a hot towel–it was a very heated massage I think I started to sweat at some point. I asked her to put more pressure when she finally got to my shoulders and she did which felt nice…for all 10 seconds that she added pressure. Didn’t touch my lower back at all, then all of a sudden it was time to flip over! She then proceeded to rub my front side (lmfao) with a hot towel again. Then the head massage with I always look forward to, it feels good on the scalp, I like the scratches behind the ears and neck it just feels good! UM, she pulled out hella hairs from my scalp. I felt like I got a nuggie.
LISTEN I’m on a mission to find a decent massage place cause a kid f*ckin needs one! I think this is only my second review on zarimassage and the first one was on another massage place so I think I got a thing going on here for future reviews.
TLDR: Not even the Groupon makes this place worth it LOL. (Someone recommend me a decent massage place please I wanna give a good rating)
