Highly recommend Stephen. I’ve been to many massage therapists all over Santa Barbara for 20 years. The last 5 years I’ve worked with Stephen and my body has never felt better. You will not find a better massage therapist in Santa Barbara

Stephen is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. From a relaxing light masage to a full on deep tissue sports therapy massage he can do it. He always gives the full hour or even more, and the price is incredibly fair for the amount of experience and the skills he has. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

I found Stephen b/c he was voted best massage therapist in SB by the Independent. Not only is he the best in SB, he is the best I have ever worked with. Great for athletes (especially cyclists, runners, surfers, volleyball players, etc.). Great location in downtown SB and fairly priced.

I’m a massage therapist and I thought I would given Stephen a try after hearing such good things about him. My experience was amazing. The whole time he was getting all the right spots. He left me relaxed and my back was so loose I felt I could melt into the table.

I cannot say enough good things about Stephen. As an ultrarunner, I get regular massages to keep the legs loose and avoid injury. I do not think it is an exaggeration to say that my success on the trails last year was in large part due to Stephen. He is a consummate pro, with a nuanced understanding of the tiny ligaments, tendons, and stabilizing muscles that need work, but that regular stretching can’t reach. While I’m sure he’s great at the traditional, relaxing Swedish massage, my time with Stephen was more along the lines of “hurts so good.” After a long weekend of pounding away on the trails, I would usually see Stephen late on Sunday afternoon and leave feeling totally anew. I swear he massages with some sort of elixir–my Achilles, which had previously been bothering me, has never felt better.
There’s something very special about getting the massage from Stephen’s home, too. Well, actually, it’s a studio adjacent to his home, but either way, you avoid the stiff rigmarole that most studios/spas force you to go through. It’s casual, easy, and facilities a comfortable environment where you feel OK telling Stephen exactly what you need. Plus, the view overlooking downtown Santa Barbara doesn’t hurt.
I recently moved away from Santa Barbara and to be honest what I miss the most is my weekly sessions with Stephen. He’s the absolute best.
