I walked into this place almost in tears because I pulled my shoulder after moving large furniture and had not been able to sleep for more than 3 days. I was in a car accident years ago that really messed up my shoulder and have occasional flair ups that leave me in excruciating pain. My chiropractor was completely booked and not able to see me for over a month, I didn’t know what to do so I googled massage places for a temporary fix. I am so thankful that Traditional Thai massage was the closest place to me because Nan saved my life!
I did not have an appointment and you really do need to schedule and appointment to come here since I believe there is only 2 people that work here? Nan had an appointment at 3pm and it was around 2pm so she came from home to meet me there and give me a quick 30 minute massage because I told her how much pain I was in.
I have got a Thai massage before but nothing like how Nan did. She was very very rough with me but knew I had to breathe through it because this was the only way to get the knots out and make me feel better. She used her feet, elbows, hands, and knees to work on me and also put tiger balm on the shoulder and neck and stretched my body.
After the 30 minutes I felt no pain in my shoulder at all! I also finally got a full night of sleep, and woke up this morning without the stabbing, throbbing pain in my shoulder. I am a little sore for the massage but nothing compared to how I was before! I recommend this place to anyone who wants a deep massage and is willing to go through some pain to feel 100% better after. Thank you Nan! I am definitely going to come back as much as I can afford to!

I have never received a Thai massage before. So, it was a new experience to be on a floor mat and the practitioner putting her full weight on me while holding onto a rope from above. Thanks nice I relaxed, it was amazing! The practitioner didn’t speak English, but she was quick to respond to my groans and sighs to accommodate my preference of pressure.

I’ve been going to Thai Massage every couple of weeks for about 8 months. Nan has been consistently giving me THE BEST MASSAGES OF MY LIFE. I’ve had problems with my upper back/shoulders/neck for over a decade, and I’ve never had such helpful, therapeutic bodywork. Nan is an absolute master of her craft. She has been able to get down to deep tissue problems that nobody else ever manages to get at. Over the months she’s been getting to know my body really well, and has been altering her style to suit my needs as I heal. It has been so helpful for pain relief. Highly, highly recommend going not just once for a massage, but for an ongoing course of treatment if you have any kind of back problems (or probably other problems too – I just know less about these).
Just one possible word of caution, which is that the Thai massage offered here is definitely not a massage style for beginners – it feels aggressive (though Nan has always been wonderful about lightening up when I ask her to). For me, with the vast majority of massage therapists I go away feeling like they haven’t done enough, like it’s been too light. If this describes you too, then you will probably just about die with happiness when you experience Nan or Ploy’s work.
Also, their services are really an incredibly good deal. I pay $90 for 90 minutes (I’d always recommend getting 90 minutes if you can afford it – the extra time enables them to get into deeper tissue). For other massage therapists of a similar caliber I’ve generally paid $90-100 for 60 minutes. I’m actually kinda shocked that the prices at Thai Massage are as low as they are, given the practitioners’ very high levels of training.
I seriously have no idea how Santa Cruz got lucky enough to have these masters of Thai massage in our midst. Practitioners there have trained around the world and are total pros, and yet here they are in our slightly rinkydink town! You should take advantage of this.

Nan is the best! Well, honestly this was my 1st Thai Massage, but this review is from 3 people-my husband went to Nan when the Chiro couldn’t help – he slept better and felt good enough to go back to mtn biking the next day and my daughter went to Nan for shin splints a week before a triathlon and she felt amazing too! I’ve had lower back pain for months and this did the trick 🙂 The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful. This will be the 1st of many visits as I work on a computer most of my day and not even with the most ergo ball – chair – sit/stand can I not feel stuck from just lack of movement. I’ve been so relaxed and my shoulder are no longer up to my ears!

The massage we had left my partner and I feeling like butter. We were rejuvenated and the best part of the massage is the next day. Ploy and Kay are healers that are experts on the muscular and skeletal system. I have been having consistent tightness in my lower back. I have tried acupuncture
And chiropractic care and those are adequate, however this this Thai massage has rejuvenated my body, mind and soul. Make sure to drink a lot of water because deep trauma and tension will be worked out and the water is need to flush you out! The best Thai massage I have received in 10 years! We are so grateful to have you in Santa Cruz! Thank you!
