way to start. Jasper’s approach is to teach and to allow everyone to be comfortable with what they can do. There is no ego in her studio.
Conscious Body also offers massages

This place is beautiful in all that it does – the people, the space itself, the yoga, the massage. I recommend everything about it!

Get inexpensive massages here.
They’re like $25/hour. It doesn’t get better than that, folks! Except for when they run specials and you can get 5 massages for $100 or something.
I won a free massage at Earth Day in Forest Park. (I think everyone who entered the drawing may have won.) They book out weeks in advance, so call ASAP.
It’s tricky to find the the Healing Arts Center if you enter from the parking lot along Manchester Road. You go in, go down some stairs, turn a corner. It’s dark. Go past the gift shop and you’ll find the waiting room. That’s the only hard part of the experience.
The therapists are students. Mine was friendly but not talkative. Massage was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but I’ve had quite a few. I hope to be back soon.Get inexpensive massages here.

I won a free massage on Forest Park Earth Day and that’s how I knew about the Healing Art Center. I went in the first time and already enjoyed my experience. Therapists in this place are students in training so that’s why the price is much cheaper compared to other spa and salon. I think they raised the price recently as it costs $35 per hour now and the special is 4 massage sessions for $105. However, I think the professionalism and quality exceeds the price that’s why I love this place so much. I definitely had better massages in Asia for that price point but in the US I think it can’t get any better that that. And most importantly, you don’t have to pay tip! Like honestly, you CAN’T give tips because they are students. The environment is great and clean. It’s simple but still very zen. You don’t get to choose your therapist so I think you get whoever is in that day. They are very booked on the weekend so if you can go on the week days, they are more flexible. If you are going on the weekend, pick up the phone now and book as it could take up to several weeks for an open. Both times I went, I had to wait 3 weeks for a weekend appointment. Quality may vary depending on your therapist but for that price point I think it’s worth the try. It’s definitely better than to pay $50 for a massage somewhere else and find out that it sucks

I was recommended to The Healing Arts Center many years ago from a massage therapist who worked elsewhere, as I was complaining of pain due to a bulging C5-C6 in my neck. At the time, surgeons wanted to fuse my spine together. Um sorry Doc.. unless I cannot walk, No Thank You! I have been seeing Tom for BioCranial adjustments every since. He is absolutely amazing, and has kept me off the surgery table for 4-5 years now. He is an amazing healer – the real deal! I trust him hands down as the best of the best. In addition, I have received many student massages and even became Reiki Certified myself so I can perform self healing on me, my son, my pets etc….Healing Arts Center truly is as good as it gets!

I had never had a massage before and then I got into a car accident. My physical therapist suggested I get a massage or two to supplement the work I was doing while in therapy.
I have a very limited budget so spending $70 twice a month was not going to work for me. Someone suggested the Healing Arts Center. I was skeptical at first because it would be a student–not a certified professional–giving me the massage, but I went with it anyway.
It was amazing. My student explained the whole process to me, made me feel very comfortable and just helped make the experience an overall pleasant one. She listened to my needs and learned about my physical therapy to better understand how she can help me. She did this thing with my head that gave me such a rush of peaceful energy that I know I would be come addicted if this was readily available to me at any given time.
A plus, to me at least, was the fact that a professional teacher peeked in twice during my session. While it did disturb the calm briefly (why it did not get 5 stars), it is refreshing to know they have trained professionals making sure the students are doing things properly. If they aren’t at this stage of the game, they will take any bad habits with them into the professional world.

I’ve been quite the stressed out chick lately. Good gravy, Stephanie…relax!
I was craving a massage a few weeks ago — seriously, it’s been a while — so after calling a few other places (and failing to secure a same-day appointment), I decided to give the Healing Arts Center a call. They’re right down the street from me, so it had the whole convenience thing going for it already.
They were able to get me booked for that evening, no problem. Woohoo!
The Healing Arts Center offers massages from professionals and students. I went with the (cheaper) student option: $35 for 50 minutes. You really can’t beat that!
I arrived about 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. The typical questions are asked (pre-existing conditions, etc.), and they also have you list which areas you’d like the massage therapist to focus on (and which areas you’l like them to avoid). I was feeling super tense, so I noted that I wanted my neck and shoulders to get some attention. I also requested some extra attention for my legs, since I’m a runner and those areas tend to get sore.
My massage therapist was super friendly. She explained everything she was going to do, and I actually learned a bit. I was told that her instructor would come in and observe her at two points during the massage.
The massage itself was fine. The instructor did come in twice, but she was SO quiet, it was practically undetectable. Other than those two interruptions (which I really wouldn’t even call interruptions), the massage itself was fine.
One big complaint: remember how I said I wanted my neck and shoulders worked on? I don’t know if she ran out of time or what, but those areas weren’t touched AT ALL. I left feeling hugely disappointed.
I will keep in mind that these are students performing the massage, and for the cheap price, I really can’t get TOO upset.
However, I’m not sure I would return. I’d rather pony up the extra moolah and get a professional massage (that hits my neck and shoulders, dammit!)
