Our family loves Big Break. Great paved trails for getting a nice walk with lovely scenery. Well maintained space with a great visitor’s center. The docents at the center are the absolute best!! Not a ton of variety in the trails but there is something here for all ages including a sand pit and small dock. Stroller /bike friendly.

It is very spacious and a wonderful place for those looking for a trip to get out of stay at home life. Most of the trails into the more adventurous areas are marked as no dogs allowed. Which was a shame as I was there with friends who brought their dogs. While there were locals in various areas of the short and sweet walking paths, again, it felt very spacious and social distancing was easy to accomplish. Only downside, make sure you take care of any personal business prior to arriving. The bathrooms needed some work. As a man, not so much of an issue. However, the restrooms are unisexual, meant for both ladies, gents, and our non-binary family. Yet they were not being maintained to the levels that are required in this day and age for all individuals to use.

This is a beautiful, peaceful, large open area at the shoreline in Oakley. I have been enjoying long walks on the nicely paved path which runs along the water, 5 miles total to the larger walking bridge and back. The various trees, plants, and views are amazing, including plenty local wildlife. Today there was a gorgeous sunrise, and we were fortunate enough to see a cool turtle, another walker gave us the heads up so we would not miss it, so nice! While visiting this also enjoy, free to public, nice clean paved parking lot with bathrooms, a great newer family oriented local environment historical museum. Also a plus, there are other always walkers, runners, bicyclists around.

Went for a third grade field trip. The rangers were really friendly and informative. The kids had a good time and the trails offer a lot of things to see.

My son and I have come for many many events here at Big Break and love it. The people here are nice, they really go all out for the kids and families. Definitely a great place to come and check out.

This local regional shoreline has a nice parking area, access to a small fishing pier, a unique topographical map of the surrounding areas, and is connected to a trail that is paved.

Big Break is a wonderful place to visit. Mike Moran shares a world of knowledge! There is a wonderful visitors center, kayaking, biking and walking paths and a big map engraved in the cement. A great place for kids, adults and pets!

This place is beautiful! I’ve gone on multiple occasions and enjoyed myself everytime. A good place to walk, fish, trail hike, walk your dogs or have a picnic. Definitely would recommend for family outings.

Clean, quiet, scenic. Perfect play to walk kids or dogs. They always have fun events. The kayak ramp is far from parking but they have things you can borrow to roll your kayak to the water.

They have so many great things for kids to do. We went on a field trip and got to learn about our native species! From learning activities for the kids to night canoeing and bonfires in the summer, great place.

Big break is the most amazing park to get away and just be….connect with nature and learn about the delta. Learn about the Bay Area. Great place to bring kids to learn… Great place to find your inner peace.
They have”rough trails”which are not rough…but give you an opportunity to walk across dirt and head towards three water.
I was just there and they had a star gazing event which stated at 8:30pm.. Lots of families there to learn about our skies at night.
The Rangers that work there are delightful, knowledgeable, wonderful people.
GO ENJOY THE OUTDOORS….
I promise you…it will be better than your electronic device!

This was a nice place to visit for a short walk. At the time the visitor’s center was closed so I cannot comment on that. But overall the place was free of litter, appeared to be well maintained. There is a small peir you can walk out onto that offers a nice view of the surrounding shoreline.
